
Students of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of the West Indies, Mona, will put their final year capstone projects on show, at the annual Mona Engineering Projects Expo under the theme “Shaping the Future and Energizing Progress through Innovation and Technology,” on Thursday, June 4, 2026.
“Our students will showcase their solutions to societal needs and real-world challenges identified by our industry partners, university and community stakeholders,” said Dr. Adrian Lawrence, Dean - Faculty of Engineering.
“Students in the Civil, Biomedical, Electrical Power and Electronics Engineering programmes have designed and tested these projects and some of the prototypes from these projects will be on display at the expo, said Dr Lawrence.
Dr Lawrence said individuals and company representatives from the engineering industry are invited to “come and explore opportunities for collaboration on problem-solving and participate in shaping future engineers”. Mr. Hugh Grant, President and CEO of the Jamaica Public Service Company Ltd. is scheduled to speak at the event, which starts at 1:00 PM.
